Working alongside the Executive Board as well as with Executive Director Victoria Harding and staff, Annie helped guide the Guild through a period of societal and cultural change with an expanded focus on training and development, the creation of new Member committees, and the growth of The Wider Lens into a major platform for celebrating Ontario talent.
As Annie wraps up her final term as Chair this spring, we celebrate her leadership journey and the lasting mark she has made on DGC Ontario and the important role she has played in shaping The Wider Lens.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Most Powerful Women in Canadian Entertainment
Annie was also among the DGC Ontario Members recognized on The Hollywood Reporter’s inaugural Most Powerful Women in Canadian Entertainment list for her work as a Director, Writer, Board Chair, and hosting the Wider Lens podcast.
Annie’s work as a mentor was recognized in 2025 when she received a WIFT+ Toronto Crystal Award for Mentorship. In her Wider Lens interview, she spoke about mentorship as an ongoing practice rather than a formal role, and reflected on the importance of making room for different voices and experiences in the industry.
“If I wanted to move the culture of the Guild into a more equitable, transparent, inclusive space — if I wanted to see our Directors working on bigger projects, our Editors cutting bigger shows, our Production Designers being acknowledged around the world — I had to take that on, on my downtime. I had to be part of that solution.”
During her time as Chair, Annie also continued her directing work, directing several projects, including Montana Mavericks, Spellbound, Circuit Breakers (nominated for a 2023 Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Single Camera Program), and the critically acclaimed thriller series In the Dark. In 2021, Wider Lens spoke with Annie to discuss her creative process for the episode “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
Launching the DEI & DGC Green Ontario Committees
Annie helped lead the Guild into a new era of Member-led groups designed to address specific concerns and interests, which includes the creation of DGC Green Ontario (formerly the DGC Ontario Sustainability Committee) and the DEI Committee. Both committees have launched crucial, specific initiatives for Membership and the industry as a whole, such as developing progressive DEI strategies to foster an inclusive culture and partnering with eBOOT Canada to develop the E-Waste Recycling Program.
DGC Ontario’s 35th anniversary
During Annie Bradley’s tenure as Chair, DGC Ontario celebrated its 35th anniversary with a special party and a retrospective on three and a half decades of change within the Guild, including Annie’s reflections as both a long-time Guild Member and the first woman to serve as Chair of DGC Ontario, working alongside Executive Director Victoria Harding.
In 2020 and 2021, DGC Ontario ushered in a new era after the Membership elected its first female Chair, Director Annie Bradley, and appointed its inaugural female Executive Director, Victoria Harding. “We have very different skill sets,” Bradley shares, of the partnership. “But we complement each other, and we’re a formidable team.”
During Annie’s time at the helm, DGC Ontario grew in new and meaningful ways, with a focus on expanding opportunities for Members, supporting new voices, and strengthening the Guild’s role within the industry. As Annie steps off the Board, we offer our sincere thanks for her dedication and everything she helped build – congratulations on six impactful years as Board Chair!
