TORONTO WINS CITY OF FILM & FILM COMMISSION OF THE YEAR AT CANNES
Toronto took home two major honours at the 2026 Global Production Awards in Cannes, winning City of Film and Film Commission of the Year – City/Region.
THE BOYS SEASON 5 BREAKS PRIME VIDEO RATINGS RECORDS

THE TESTAMENTS RENEWED BY HULU FOR SEASON 2

VOUGHT RISING TRAILER GIVES FIRST LOOK AT THE BOYS SPIN-OFF
Prime Video has released the first teaser for Vought Rising, the 1950s-set The Boys prequel starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, with the series expected to premiere in 2027.
CANADIAN CINEMA EDITORS AWARDS ANNOUNCE WINNERS
Congratulations to all our Editing Members who won a 2026 Canadian Cinema Editors Award and/or were recognized at the ceremony! DGC Ontario Members Andrew Bukovac, Majda Drinnan, and Wesley Demkiw received the 2026 Assistant Editor Recognition Award, with DGC Ontario Picture Editors Heath Fashina and Michelle Szemberg also taking home Awards for Best Editing in a Live Action Series or MOW for Children & Youth and Best Editing in a Short Film.
LORI FISCHBURG NAMED HEAD OF PRODUCTION AT ACCENT AIGU ENTERTAINMENT
Accent Aigu Entertainment has named DGC Ontario’s Lori Fischburg Head of Production and Producer as part of a new leadership structure. The move comes as the company builds on the international success of Heated Rivalry and continues expanding its production slate.
REALLY HAPPY SOMEDAY AVAILABLE ON VOD IN THE U.S.
Directed by DGC Ontario’s J Stevens, Really Happy Someday is now available to watch on Prime and AppleTV in the U.S., as well as streaming in Canada on Crave.
REACHER GETS SEASON 5 RENEWAL AT PRIME VIDEO
Prime Video has renewed Reacher for a fifth season ahead of Season 4, continuing the action-thriller franchise. Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher, with the first three seasons currently available to stream on Prime Video.
CRYSTAL LAKE ANNOUNCES OCTOBER 15 PREMIERE ON PEACOCK
Peacock has announced that Crystal Lake, the A24-produced Friday the 13th prequel series shot in Ontario, will premiere on October 15. The series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and is led by creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane.
