DGC Ontario Director Fawzia Mirza’s debut feature film, The Queen of My Dreams, is hitting SXSW this year after being named one of TIFF’s Canada’s Top Ten for 2023!

Wider Lens sat down with Fawzia before the SXSW premiere on March 9 to discuss her journey from daytime lawyer and nighttime actor to shooting her ambitious first feature in both Canada and Pakistan, her passion for stories that connect with other queer Muslim women, and making a film inspired by her favourite Bollywood movies.
